CSWC Latvia - reading the rules before lighting up competition cigars

The CSWC Latvian Qualification event of 2024 took place on June 8th at the stunning K.K. fon Stricka villa, marking the second consecutive year the venue has hosted this prestigious competition. Participants hailed from Latvia, Estonia, Finland, Lithuania, and the Czech Republic, showcasing a diverse array of talent and camaraderie.

The event was a testament to both seasoned veterans and eager newcomers. Many experienced smokers, who had shown remarkable results the previous year, found themselves out of the running around the one-hour mark. This turn of events created new opportunities for less experienced competitors to shine.

The competition for first place was intense. Oleg Roschin and Harri Kalliokoski maintained their leadership positions throughout, with the final moments proving crucial. Harri's cigar went out just a few millimeters from the ring, allowing Oleg to secure a comfortable victory with a time of 1h55m00s for the second year in a row.

Elnur Rakhimov, improving his performance by finishing two minutes faster than last year, secured third place—an improvement from his fourth-place finish the previous year.
