This historic event willtake place on August 8, 2024 at a secret location in Toronto, Canada, bringing together cigar enthusiasts from across the nation for a day of camaraderie, competition, and celebration.

Hosted by a cigar enthusiast Ivan Lukaroski, the CSWC Canada event promises to be a memorable occasion for both participants and spectators. Ivan expressed his excitement about the upcoming event, stating, "It is an honor to host the first CSWC qualifying event in Canada. This competition is not just about smoking cigars; it's about precision, patience, and passion. I look forward to witnessing the incredible skills of our Canadian competitors."
Ivan Lukaroski shared his personal connection to the CSWC, saying, "I first heard about the Cigar Smoking World Championship many years ago through an article in the Wall Street Journal. The concept intrigued me so much that I decided to participate as a competitor. I competed in the CSWC event in Skopje, North Macedonia, where I finished in 2nd place. It was an unforgettable experience that deepened my love for the sport and the community."

When Ivan first started to put together the idea of hosting the CSWC event in Canada, he reached out to his friends and fellow cigar enthusiasts, Christopher Di Poce and Louie Daddese. Together, with the help of local Toronto cigar store owner and friend Trae Zammit from The Smokin’ Cigar, they have organized the first CSWC qualifying event in Canada. "The support and enthusiasm from Chris, Louie, and Trae have been invaluable. Without their dedication and passion, this event would not have been possible," said Lukaroski.

The CSWC is a prestigious international competition that tests the skills of cigar aficionados in slow smoking. Participants are judged on their ability to smoke a cigar for the longest time without it going out. The winner of the CSWC Canada event will earn the opportunity to compete in the global finals, held annually in Croatia, and for the first time in Dubrovnik, Croatia.
