INTERVIEW WITH WORLD CHAMPION 2022 - Borys Szkodziak
Getting fresh and hot impressions and feelings from charismatic actual World Champions is the best way to warm up for the upcoming CSWC season.

Dear Borys The new year has begun. Looking back in 2022, what feelings and impressions you have?
The season 2022 has officially started for us in June, when the first polish Time Chase took place. After that i was quite sure that i will qualify for the Grand Final as my result was close to 3 hours. The overconfidence and awareness of the achievement resulted in subsequent loss in Polish national final. During the national champioships i had a great fun but i feel that i somehow missed the competition spirit as my position was strong. Therefore i finished the season with my best result from the beginning of the season. Moving to the Grand Final it is a different story. From the very first CSWC family gatherings i had this profound self confidence and competition spirit. It was in the air that the next world champion will be from Poland
World Champion title - did you expect it, and how did it feel to stand on top of the slow smoking world and receive the CSWC world champion trophy from Rocky Patel personally?
After the 2021 Grand Final i knew that World Champion title is within reach. It was an amazing pleasure to meet Rocky Patel himself and get the World Champion Trophy from his hands. The celebration was very surprising i would never expect that much. Huge thanks to you Marko and to the whole CSWC team and family for that.

New season 2023 is on the horizon; have you begun preparing and training? Are there any new strategies for 2023?
I am excited about the season 2023. I have learned a lot in 2022 but there is always a place to make improvements. I have just started the preparations, there are some things that i would like to try in the near future as i am more and more experienced.
If you look at other top world slow smokers, who do you think is the most dangerous to you, who do you think is the most competitive to you, and why?
The CSWC family is full of remarkable champions. But please also bear in mind that CSWC is one of a kind, one-person game. It requires unusual persistance and patience from each competitor as well as from myself. Moreover being at the top, requires from the champion not to become a victim of its own success. Therefore to be completely honest, at this point, i am the only one top world slow smoker endengering myself in the upcoming competitions.
World Record - do you think it is reachable?
According to my knowledge, i am currently holder of the world record on Roky Patel Cigar Smoking World Champioship Mareva cigar, world record - done. But talking about overall, basing on my experience i can tell you that it is possible to establish new world record.

You've never competed against Igor Kovacic, the world record holder; would you like to?
Of course, i would love to compete against Igor Kovacic. He is a legend and for him i, with my age and my smoking experience am some sort of rookie.
Klaudia is both your partner and your rival. Do you believe she can unseat you as world champion?
NO! Ha ha hah!
Finally, a message to competitors and the audience for the 2023 season?
I love all of you CSWC friends & family. We established great relationships and i was charmed whenever i had an opportunity to meet you outside the Split. I look forward to seeing you again this year. Be prepared, it will be a great season!
