Dominican Republic slow smokers writing history again in Santo Domingo

CSWC Santo Domingo Pre Qualifier event was held last Tuesday August the 2nd in the newly opened Cigar Lounge El Patio RD, whose owner, Jonathan Almanzar provided prizes and a delicious Dominican dinner for the participants along with a lovely cake depicting the Dominican flag and the CSWC logo. Additional attraction was the sponsorship of Oliver & Oliver Rums who provided an assortment of premium rums for the winners and a tasting of the Punta Cana Rum for all attendees led by its Brand Ambassador.

What a fantastic result for the Dominican Republic - for the first time ever, the Dominican Flag appears on the TOP 20 list of the season's best smokers. Outstanding achievement.- Marija Marovic, CSWC Head Judge

In Santo Domingo, an amazing slow smoking race took place. Competitors who are experienced cigar enthusiasts decided to push that little Competition Rocky Patel marevas to its limits. The new, beautiful lounge was filled with competition smoke, and full focus produced amazing results - Rafael Solano took an amazing victory, one that will be remembered as the first to place the Dominican Flag among the TOP 20 best smokers of the CSWC season - this time season 2022. 2 hours, 5 minutes, and 3 seconds is an excellent time for a high ranking on the list. Freilyn Perez, the great slow smoker, comes in second place. She also finished in 1 hour and 44 minutes. Rafael Solano and Freylin are married and have formed the Buffalo Smokers. They have been supportive of the CSWC Dominican Republic initiative since its inception.

Danays Leon Sanchez once again excelled as a CSWC judge and organizer. Ana Camila Besu was her wonderful Judge assistant, and together they ensured that the slowest smoking race followed the rules.
